Elegant Open Concept Bath
The Task & Project Vision
The client’s master bath had never been remodeled and was in the original builders grade style (this is fairly common). Many of the homeowners who contact us are doing a major remodel for the first time. It is not a pre-requisite to know what the remodel process is like to have one done. We welcome and are grateful for the opportunity to work with our clients in allowing our decades of experience to serve their needs.
For most projects, we work with the existing layout of the bathroom space. Occasionally, we can remove walls to alter the space, but typically the available area is what we utilize. In this case, the challenge was to enhance the visual appeal and make the bathroom feel larger without removing walls. This required creative solutions and a strategic use of materials.
Our vision was to create a continuous flow by extending the shower tile to other areas of the bathroom, rather than confining it to the shower alone. This approach unified the space, making it feel larger and more open. We chose large glossy white and grey porcelain tiles for the walls and large matte tiles for the floor. To further enhance the sense of unity, we used white quartz for the shower bench and windowsill, maintaining the same material throughout.
A custom-designed light blue floating cabinet was installed to complement the existing color palette. Above the cabinet, we placed an expansive custom mirror with a beveled edge, which further amplified the perception of a larger space. Together, these elements contributed to an elegant open-concept bathroom that felt more spacious and visually appealing.
